My latest article for Gemr.com looks at a question that many comic fans have asked before; is it better to buy single issue comics or wait for the collected edition? It’s a question I’ve mentioned a little previously here on Collectorized and one that I really think deserves to be discussed more, especially as people’s relationship with comics and how they want to consume them changes.
It’s also probably my longest article to date, so that’s cool. Please, head over and have a read. 😀

My Mum and Dad recently digitised all our old family photo and among them was this pearler from our first visit to Sega World, Sydney. Not sure exactly how old I am here, probably somewhere between 10 and 13. I remember the trip though it was fantastic, though!
A few years ago I wrote an article for RetoCollect.com entitled Remembering Sega World, Sydney which recounted the various rides and attractions at the park as well as the story surrounding it’s sad closure. If you’d like to know more about the park, please give it a read. 😀
My latest article for Gemr.com is all about my favorite Marvel hero, Doctor Strange. The article focuses on the various costumes the good Doctor has had over the years and the reasons behind the changes, be they for story or editorial reasons.

I absolutally loved Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse. I’d even go so far as it say it’s the best Spider-Man film yet! It worked on so many diffirent levels and introduced cinema goers to some more great Marvel characters. Given the success of the Spider-Verse film it seems pretty certain a sequle is on the way.

I didn’t do too well with my plans of posting a monthly wrap-up, so I thought that maybe I’d try something a little more manageable; a wrap up of the year that was.
2018 was quite a year for me personally. My wife and I moved from one city to another, I finally made the decision to get out of teaching and into another profession which, after roughly five months of very little work, happened. And I’m so much happier because of it. Oh, and I started getting paid to write articles on geeky stuff for Gemr.com. Awesome!

My second article for collector website Gemr.com went live recently. This one was an absolute pleasure to write as it looks at the history of my personal favourite comics hero, The Phantom.
The article takes a bit of a different tact than most “history of…” articles thought in that it doesn’t just recount how the series came to be and where it is today, but rather the impact it had on the people who read it and how that in turn influenced their culture and the character himself!
Lots of research went in to this, so if you take a moment to read it (pleas do) I hope you enjoy it.

For roughly a year I’ve been cataloguing my collection at Gemr.com, a social network of sorts for collectors. Well, about a month ago I was given the opportunity to contribute to their blog and today that contribution has gone live!
It takes the form of an (I like to think exhaustive) article on the history of my favourite ever toy line, Mighty Max.
I’ve very humbled to be given the chance to put my writing out there on a (much) larger platform than this humble blog, so please take a moment to head on over and give the article a read!
